Doug Petch spent over 20 years in the United States Army, serving in elite Airborne and Special Operations units. His experiences in both war and peace taught him the importance of team building, leadership, and communication skills to organizational and individual success. He now shares his experiences, insights, and unique point of view through dynamic and entertaining keynote speeches, workshops, and seminars.
Combining decades of real-world experience with a Masters degree in Management and a background in training, Doug helps audiences learn and implement effective strategies for achieving peak performance and building high performance organizations. An engaging and entertaining speaker, Doug’s specialty is challenging individuals and organizations to succeed by recognizing and harnessing proven team building, leadership and communication techniques.
Born and raised in Ohio, Doug has enjoyed success in both the private and public sector. His search for new challenges early in life led him to enlist in the United States Army, much to the dismay of his girlfriend (and now wife and still girlfriend) Beth. After completing his three-year commitment Doug went on to spend a number of years in the private sector working as a plant manager, insurance agent, and real estate agent. He ultimately returned to the military life he loved, embarking on a successful career that led him around the world and culminated with his retirement as a decorated and respected First Sergeant.
When he’s not speaking or writing you’ll likely find Doug either in his roadster looking for new roads to conquer or on a tractor around the small Kentucky draft horse farm he shares with his wife and a houseful of retired racing greyhounds.
